Process & Documents

Process, Customs & Documents

Sabah/Sarawak customs, bank release letters, RoRo vs container, marine insurance and booking & document cutoffs.

Does shipping to Sabah or Sarawak involve customs?
Yes. Sabah and Sarawak are separate customs zones from the Peninsular, so the vehicle must be declared and cleared by customs at the destination port. Clearance usually takes 1 to 3 working days after the vessel arrives, and our team handles this process for you.
My car is still under a bank loan — can it be shipped?
Yes, but you first need a release/authorisation letter from your financing bank since the vehicle is still under hire-purchase. Let us know early so we can guide you in preparing the right documents before the booking date.
What is the difference between RoRo and container, and which suits me?
RoRo means the vehicle is driven on and off the vessel — the most cost-effective option for most cars and motorcycles. A container fully encloses the vehicle and allows some belongings to be carried along, ideal for luxury vehicles or extra protection. We will recommend the best option for your vehicle and budget.
What are the delivery options — port to port or door to door?
You can choose port to port (drop off and collect the vehicle yourself at the port) or door to door, where we collect the vehicle from your location and deliver it to the destination address. Partial options such as door to port or port to door are also available. Tell us your preference when requesting a quote.
Is marine insurance available for my vehicle?
Yes, we encourage marine insurance cover that protects your vehicle against damage or loss throughout the sea journey. The premium is usually based on the vehicle’s value. Ask our team for details when booking.
When is the cutoff for booking and document submission?
We advise booking and submitting documents at least a few days before the vessel’s sailing date, as space is limited and documents need to be checked in advance. Booking early also gives you better schedule and pricing options.
Where and when do I send the vehicle to the port?
For the port-to-port option, the vehicle must be delivered to the designated yard or port before the booking cutoff. We will provide the address, operating hours and a short checklist once your booking is confirmed. If you choose collection, we come to your location at the agreed time.
